Why Financial Counseling
I believe financial clarity creates freedom—and that everyone deserves access to ethical, judgment-free financial guidance.
I founded Heth Financial Counseling, L.L.C. to help people navigate financial stress, uncertainty, and real-life money decisions with purpose and confidence.
My approach is practical, education-based, and grounded in respect for each client’s goals, circumstances, and experience.
The Foundation for Financial Competency
Financial counseling helps you understand your financial situation, work through challenges, and make informed decisions—especially during periods of stress or change. It often focuses on budgeting, debt, cash flow, and building financial stability.
Financial coaching builds on that foundation. Coaching focuses on habit change, goal-setting, accountability, and follow-through over time—helping you stay on track once you have clarity.
My practice follows the core competencies and Code of Ethics of the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE®). As an AFC® Candidate, I provide ethical, client-centered financial counseling with coaching support as needed.
In practice, this means:
• Education, not products — no insurance or investment sales
• Clear, practical guidance — steps you can actually use
• Judgment-free support — a confidential space to talk honestly

Professional Background & Education
I am a current federal employee with approximately 10 years of experience in federal human resources, including prior work as a benefits specialist. This background allows me to support clients—particularly federal employees—in understanding how workplace benefits and employment structures fit into their broader financial picture.
In May 2025, I graduated from George Mason University with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Schar School of Policy and Government, with a concentration in Human Resources. I am proud to be a George Mason University alumna.
I am also a licensed attorney in New York and the District of Columbia. While my legal training informs my analytical approach and attention to detail, I do not provide legal advice through Heth Financial Counseling.
My practice is grounded in the core competencies and Code of Ethics of the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education® (AFCPE®). As an AFC® Candidate, I am committed to ethical, client-centered financial counseling that emphasizes education, clarity, and informed decision-making.
I do not sell insurance, investments, or financial products, and I do not receive commissions. My role is to help clients understand their options—so they can make thoughtful decisions that align with their values and real lives.
